Kara was born in Evanston, IL, and moved to South Florida as a child. Her interest in medicine started early in her life. She completed a nursing program in high school and became a board-certified LPN before starting college. She then worked as a hospice nurse during college and her gap years before medical school. Johns Hopkins Bayview is an incredible place, where everyone, including residents and attendings, go above and beyond to provide excellent patient-centered care.
